Should I schedule an appointment because I’ve had a breast injury?
If you have injured your breasts you should see your health care provider for a clinical breast exam. Your health care provider will determine if you need a diagnostic mammogram or other follow up.

At what age should a woman get a mammogram?
The American Cancer Society recommends that women begin annual screening mammography at age 40.

Must I have a physician to get a mammogram?
Our facility allows patients to schedule a screening mammogram if they have a health care provider that will accept the screening mammogram report. This means that you can call us directly to schedule a screening mammogram as long as you can give us the name of your health care provider.

Due to federal guidelines, we must require an order from a health care provider to schedule a diagnostic mammogram and/or a breast ultrasound.

Can I still get a mammogram if I don’t have health insurance?
Yes, our facility will work with you to set up a payment plan. There are also government programs that assist low-income patients in obtaining mammogram services.

Is Asheville Breast Center affiliated with Mission Hospitals?
Yes, Asheville Breast Center is a joint partnership between Asheville Radiology Associates and Mission Hospitals.
